One thing we didnt expect were the non monetary challenges of working with developing countries like Cambodia. That they don't know a lot of the given "standard" apps and sites that western countries who have grown up with the internet take for granted
Things were going great with one of the programs we tried to support until we sent them our discord invite link and they hadn't heard of or used the app yet, despite sending a screenshot over. They proceeded to then block us!
We also did a test run with Houen's niece who is attending a rural area school that may not have any digital infrastructure i.e student ID's or enrollment letters / emails and may have had to essentially make up an ID just for our verification processes
Lastly we're currently in Cambodia now with a whole bunch of machines flown over from the US and that in itself has revealed a whole bunch of challenges with future customs registrations for tax exemptions that we now know we have to figure out along with early discussions with a firm to handle the foreign NGO registration for us
